A magnetic drive pump uses a balanced magnetic field to create the rotation of the fluid impeller or gear. Unlike a traditional pump designs which has a direct drive connection between impeller and motor, a mag-drive pump eliminates the direct drive mechanism and replaces it with a magnetic field. This not only creates a “dry” drive arrangement it replaces the conventional shaft seal arrangement weather Mechanical or Gland type. The outer drive magnet is separated from the inner impeller magnet by a “can”. With the rotation of the outer drive mag, the internal mag rotates. The build materials of this units can be selected to suit most applications. Our FTI Chemical Resistance Mag-Drive pumps have a proven track record with the UC Series coupled to Gas Engine drives used on Road Chemical Tankers for load / off load applications and the SP / DB series as a Standard on factory scrubber units and transfer pumps.
